Come join us! Whether you’re an experienced trail rider or new to horses or trail riding, if you’re looking for camaraderie with fellow horse enthusiasts, want to see new country, and ride in a safe and supportive environment, this is the riding club for you!
SYVR is open to all breeds and riding styles and stresses safe riding practices on all trail rides. Participants must follow the Trail Rules when participating in club-sponsored rides.
For Trail Rules:
Trail rides last from two to three hours over private ranches well-known in the County’s history, as well as in the Los Padres National Forest and California State and Santa Barbara County Parks such as La Purisima Mission and Live Oak Camp. Riders typically meet at the ride location and for longer travel time, at central location and trailer their horses caravan-style to the trailhead. Trail rides are typically scheduled monthly, with weekend campouts scheduled for the spring and fall.
For the Trail Ride Rating guide:
SYVR also participates in events such as clinics, training such as Horse Emergency Evacuation Expo and training with the Horse Emergency Evacuation Team (HEET) in SLO as well as trail maintenance.
